El Establo Hotel is located high in the cloud forest, right outside the town of Santa Elena in Monteverde, Costa Rica. This hotel used to be a large dairy farm, founded by the Quakers in the 1950’s. Over the years, El Establo, meaning The Stable, was converted from barns and stables into luxurious hotels rooms to meet the need for the ever increasing population of tourists who travel here to view some of the most exotic pristine cloud forests and wildlife that the world has to offer. Monteverde has become world known for the cloud forests, nature preserves, butterfly gardens and adventurous activities such as zip lining through the mountains and forests along with bungee jumping in between some of the highest canyons that Central America has to offer.
I have a very loud laugh ( so *they* said) and a penchant for cocktail rings (the bigger, the better). It would be wise not to test me on Sex and the City trivia. Funnel muffins are the way to my heart.
